I grew up on the west coast of Vancouver Island within a stone's throw of Long Beach. With the beach and ocean as my backyard I developed an appreciation very early in life for the outdoors and all things nautical.
I am a self-taught artist and prefer to paint in water colour and acrylic. My inspiration comes from the beautiful landscapes of British Columbia and my new ocean home in Nova Scotia. I am drawn to ocean scenes and birds or any landscape containing mountains, trees and water. I enjoy photography and often use my images as references for my paintings. I do not attempt to achieve photo realistic images and prefer to be more impressionistic in my style. I favour the art of Monet and Van Gogh and love the simplicity of their paintings and their use of colour.
I lived in the interior of British Columbia for 22 years and recently moved to Cape Sable Island, Nova Scotia where I reside with my husband and our 2 dogs.
